Dennis Bussell was renowned for his teaching of the Ting Family Style of Taijiquan. Dennis met the Tings as a late adolescent and trained with them for several years, the last of which he lived with the family. Dennis held their teachings in reverence and shared it to help people. One of his favorite moments occurred when he discovered one of his elderly students walked away from his class and left his cane.

JOSH EAVES

Josh Eaves began studying martial arts at five years old. In his childhood, he studied primarily Tae Kwon Do. As Josh grew, so did his interest in martial arts. By the time he was in his teens, he studied kungfu, Lee Tzun Gin, Silat, and Jeet Kune Do. Josh met Dennis Bussell as a young teenager. Soon thereafter, taijiquan became Josh’s primary style of martial art. He found that not only did taijiquan excel as a fighting style, borrowing the best devastating attacks from the other styles he studied, but taijiquan also provided the conceptual framework to improve on and combine those skills.

Dennis Bussell approved Josh to teach Ting Taijiquan in 1999. For the next 10 years, Dennis continued to challenge and train Josh. Shortly before his death in 2009, Dennis awarded Josh full instructor privileges for the Ting Family System. Since Dennis’ passing, Josh dedicated his energy to preserving and promoting the Ting Family System. This website and companion youtube channel are a part of this endeavor.
